I’m a teacher, writer, and entrepreneur who travels the world with my wife and my pack of dogs. I dreamed of becoming a writer and teacher ever since I was a young girl. Little did I know, these two passions would lead me to blog writing and yoga teaching! I adore education in all forms, and I love to express myself through words—so here we are.

I’ve dealt with depression my entire life. Even since childhood before anything “bad” happened to me, it was just in me. Like it lived in my bones or something. By the time I was a teenager, and had experienced my first big T trauma experience- depression became a part of my life in a way […]
Read MoreTo demo, or not to demo, that is the question. And it certainly is a question that sparked a lively conversion on my Instagram post. So much so, I figured I needed a full length blog post to share the nuance around the topic for yoga teachers demo’ing during their classes. There are so many […]
Read MoreOne of the most beautiful things about yoga is that you don’t need a whole lot in order to practice. Sure, there’s a lot of fancy outfits, unique props, and specific yoga mats to choose from nowadays- but traditionally, all you needed was your body. What’s better is that you can lean on everyday items […]
Read MoreCan I just start off by saying, I freaking love Cape Town. It might just be the best city in the world. Truly. I say this because it really has something for everyone. And, look, I know what you’re thinking: all cities are like that. But that’s really not entirely true. Because while most cities […]
Read MoreThe first time I went to Africa was in 2010 when I ventured to Ghana for a 3 month teaching job. I was only 21, and this trip would mark my first solo travel, as well. I got bit by the Africa bug immediately. And then spent the next 10 years returning to as many […]
Read MoreEveryone who’s been following along on Instagram during our recent travel to South Africa and Botswana keeps asking what the heck happened that landed us at the embassy and stranded for four days. The truth is, the story was too much and too long to share on the gram, which makes it a perfect candidate […]
Read MoreSo you’re going to Africa. First of all, ugh, I’m jealous. I’d live there if I could. Truly. And second of all, YAY! You’re in for the trip of a lifetime. I’m so grateful that I spent a decade of my life traveling across the big beautiful continent that is Africa. With only 12 African […]
Read MoreI should start off by saying that I’m writing this while currently sitting in business class for a 15.5 hour trip across the world. Which is kind of a spoiler alert, because it answers the question right away. Is business class worth it? That would be a resounding YES from me (she says while sipping […]
Read MoreLet’s be real, burnout happens. And it can happen within work settings, social settings, even family settings. In today’s day and age where the emphasis is often on more is better- and doing over being- it requires some hardcore mindfulness to combat the burnout bug from taking over. With burnout being more prevalent than ever, […]
Read MoreOh, how I wish I read this post before I decided to start a business with my wife. My hope is that if you’re reading this now then you’re in the ideation process with your significant other, rather than too deep into it. While you can always readjust even once business is booming, it’s really […]
Read MoreI’ve typed, deleted, and re-typed the opening sentence so many times. I guess I just don’t know what to say. Or more specifically, how to start. Where to start. My Second Pregnancy Loss I guess it starts with our spontaneous choice to go to Africa, South Africa and Botswana, specifically. We told everyone close to […]
Read MoreOftentimes when we think of the words “self care,” the image of a decadent bath with candles and crystals and rose petals comes to mind, right? The truth is, self care doesn’t have to be an extravagant act that can only be fit in a few times a year. Nor does it have to be […]
