THE BLOG
I thought you might want to meet me before you dive in.
So, hi!
i'm Kayla
I’m a teacher, writer, and entrepreneur who travels the world with my wife and my pack of dogs. I dreamed of becoming a writer and teacher ever since I was a young girl. Little did I know, these two passions would lead me to blog writing and yoga teaching! I adore education in all forms, and I love to express myself through words—so here we are.

Read MoreOctober You would’ve been 36 this year. Would you have been married already? With kids? It feels impossible to imagine you at this age. Maybe it’s because of that youthful puppy dog spirit of yours. Or maybe because your death froze you in time at 18. It’s hard to say. Sometimes I wonder if we’d […]

I wonder when domestic violence awareness month is? I thought. Which a quick Google search told me was right now, […]
Read MoreI had a *moment* with juicing a few years back. I was VERY into juicing, juice cleanses, liquid fasts and so on. But as the years went on, I started to notice that this was actually making me feel worse, not better- so I stopped. Although I stopped juicing in substitution of eating, I still […]

In other words, that moment is the inspiration behind this post! I know you can scour Pinterest for the most […]
Read MoreIf you’ve been to a yoga class before, chances are you’ve heard someone talk about “chakras” in the class. Like yoga itself, the word chakra has become so assimilated into the Western world, it’s even thrown around in non-yoga related settings. However, there’s not always the best understanding of what a chakra actually is. Don’t […]
Read MoreLook, I get it, morning routines are all the rage right now. And they have been for a while. But the thing is that they’re popular to talk about for a reason: BECAUSE THEY MATTER!!! This doesn’t necessarily mean that what works for me will work for you, or vice versa. But it is nice […]
Read MoreI’m coming into my tenth year (!!!) of teaching yoga, and also my tenth year of leading yoga retreats. That’s right, I jumped right into the yoga retreat industry immediately after graduating from my 200 hour yoga teacher training.
