Date Paste

Once again, I’d hardly call this a “recipe,” more of a cheaper hack to buying super overpriced date paste in plastic bottles.

I use date paste as a sweetener for just about ALL my baking creations (as you know).

And as good as it is, it can get REALLY expensive.

I found making my own adds a fluffier texture, and it a fraction of the price.

This is also yummy as a dip, smoothies, or a quick additive to a spicy dish (gives it that sweet and spicy flavor).

Ingredients:

  • Organic dates (I like Medjool dates, but any juicy ones will do!)

  • Fresh water

  • Optional cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. You will need a blender for this.

  2. Make sure to pit the dates first.

  3. You can either soak the dates in hot water to soften first, and then blend soft.

  4. Or, you can add dates as they are to blender WITH boiling water (less water than dates).

  5. Blend at a high speed until creamy and smooth.

  6. If you like spice, add a dash of cinnamon.

    ENJOY!
