River House:
-River House is a luxury style villa accommodation for guests who are seeking a sanctuary type stay in an authentic Indian forest village.
-The area is surrounded by a protected forested area where wildlife can easily be spotted.
-The grounds include: 5 bedroom luxury villa, private pool, separate dining area overlooking the river, dedicated yoga space, an organic garden from which most of the food is supplied.
Rooms:
-All rooms are luxury style accommodation.
-All rooms are shared.
-All rooms offer either ONE KING bed, or be split apart to make TWO TWIN beds (please note which you prefer upon booking).
-All rooms come equipped with AC, hot water shower, kettle, patio, and changing area.
Neriamangalam:
Neriamangalam:
-A small village about halfway from Cochin to Munnar in the forested mountain region of Kerala, India.
-Neriamangalam is surrounded by hundreds of kilometers of protected forest, so wildlife is plentiful in the region and easily spotted.
-The area has NOT been developed for tourism yet, so there are no large hotels, shops, malls, etc.
-Because tourism has yet to hit Neriamangalam, guests have a chance to experience AUTHENTIC Indian life and culture during their stay at River House.
-This region also includes: jungle treks, forest temples, and mountain hiking.
-Expect to be inspired by nature during an incredible tranquil stay in the sanctuary that is River House.
Surroundings:
-To access Neriamangalam, you will fly in and out of Cochin International Airport. Transportation from the airport to River House is available by direct bus or by private care/taxi. This is a 1.5 - 2 hour drive.
-Cochin (Kochi) is also the nearest coastal region. You will likely stay one night prior to the retreat, or one night after in order to make your flight.
-We recommend staying in Kochi Fort, as this area is on the beach (please note this is a port town/fishing village area), and there are plenty of hotel options for every budget available here.
-Munnar is a tourist hotspot in Kerala due to its stunning tea plantations and endless hikes.
-Munnar is 2-2.5 hours by direct bus or private car/taxi from Neriamangalam. This region is nice for those looking for an adventurous day trip to another beautiful (but much more touristy) area.
